To get a sample bottle, stop by the health department from 8:30am-4;30pm Monday- Thursday

Water sample fees: bacteria= $35 nitrate and arsenic= $40 homeowner’s package (all three)= $105
Results for bacteria are reported out after 24 hours arsenic and nitrate reported out within 60 days

To report a blue-green algae bloom in Wisconsin waters, contact Wisconsin DNR staff at Please include the location of the bloom, the name of the water body, nearest town, county, the size and duration of the bloom, and overall and close-up photographs for verification. The DNR is unable to test all reported blooms.
